Romani is more than a language: it is memory, identity and culture. Over the centuries, it has been a bridge between generations and a living testimony to the history of the Roma people. However, the challenges of today’s world have made passing it on increasingly difficult.
This is why we created the Virtual Institute of the Romani Language, a space for anyone who wants to learn, practise and appreciate the language in all its forms. We believe language is a powerful means of connection and resistance. Our aim is to give everyone, whatever their level of knowledge, access to resources that strengthen their connection with Romani.
